Role Purpose
Develop, optimize, and implement welding and brazing methods across all manufacturing processes, ensuring top-tier quality standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency aligned with global standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify operational and technical training needs for welding processes across the plant.
- Design and execute tailored training plans based on operational indicators and shop-floor needs.
- Define and manage the welder skills matrix, competency levels, and pay tiers according to technical capabilities.
- Prepare and manage documentation and technical evidence required for welding process certifications.
- Coordinate and supervise welder test coupons and equipment testing for certification issuance and renewals.
- Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and actively resolve technical issues in welding and brazing operations.
- Work closely with the Quality Department to reduce or eliminate internal and external cost of quality (CoQ).
- Perform technical inspections and ensure strict adherence to international standards and codes.
- Identify and implement process improvements in welding to boost productivity and product quality, always prioritizing workplace safety.
- Conduct technical feasibility and engineering studies for product enhancements.
- Identify, document, and justify cost-saving projects (VAVE / Cost Out) resulting from changes in components, materials, or process parameters.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional engineering teams to drive process standardization and share best practices across international sites.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgy, Chemical, Electrical, or related field).
- Language Skills: Conversational / Fluent English (required for daily collaboration with global engineering teams and international manufacturing sites).
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Welding & Brazing Specialist or Engineer (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, Brazing) within the manufacturing or metalworking industry (HVAC industry experience is highly preferred).
- Standards & Codes: Strong proficiency in international codes and standards: AWS, ASME, ISO, and AISI.
- NDT Inspection: Solid experience in Visual Testing (VT) and Non-Destructive Testing methods (UT, PT, MT, RT).
- Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) status is strongly preferred.
